Wall Street 2 Cast Grows
by The Dark Defender on Aug.26, 2009, under Movies
The already impressive cast for Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps just got even more interesting. The sequel, to again be directed by Oliver Stone, already has returning star Michael Douglas, and the new additions of Shia LaBeouf, Carey Mulligan, Frank Langella, and (still rumored but hopefully true) Javier Bardem. The sequel has just recruited…Susan Sarandon, who is set to play LaBeouf’s mother.
Is it wrong that I am now imagining being Shia’s very own personal Mother Lover?
Fresh Out of the Oven: “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen”
by Honk Mahfah on Jun.24, 2009, under Movies, Steven Spielberg
I had a very complex emotional reaction to Transformers: Revenge of the Sith, or Transformers: Rise of the Lycans, or whatever this “movie” is called. Yes, that’s right: a complex emotional reaction. Because on the one hand, I was bored out of my skull (and more than a little insulted) by it, but on the other hand, I’m well aware that a lot of people are going to go see this and have an absolute blast, and what worries/confuses/angers/saddens/depresses me is the thought that I, too, could have had a great time watching this movie, if only I was … if only I was …
If only I was what? What qualities am I lacking that make it possible for other people to love these movies, whereas I dislike them so entirely that I can’t even quite remember what the second one was about only a few hours after seeing it?
Wall Street 2: The Wrath of Gekko
by Honk Mahfah on Apr.29, 2009, under Movies
Variety reports that director Oliver Stone will be making a sequel to his 1987 classic Wall Street.
Also signed on is star Michael Douglas, who won an Oscar in the role of Gordon Gekko. In negotiations to co-star: Shia LaBeouf, who presumably would be playing a role similar to Charlie Sheen’s in the original.
Wall Street is certainly not the type of movie that screams “sequel,” but personally, I’m looking forward to seeing Stone revisit the themes of one of his most successful films. Same goes for Douglas. If they’re able to get LaBeouf on board, I’ll be even more interested.
