RingºRacer takes “fastest roller coaster in the world” title

The title of “world’s fastest roller coaster” has officially moved to Germany with the opening of the new roller coaster titled “RingºRacer” at the world famous Nürburgring Formula 1 race track. The coaster is designed by S&S Power and uses a compressed air launch to reach 135 MPH in 2.5 seconds.
Let me just say that again. 135 mph in 2.5 seconds.
Universal Orlando’s new coaster faces another delay

Universal Studios Orlando’s new coaster, Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit looks like it has run into yet another delay. Over the weekend reports came in that during a test run the train valleyed between the non-inverting loop and the first mid course brake (“valleyed” meaning the train did not have enough momentum to make it up a hill, and rolling back into the lowest point, or valley, in the track).

Kings Island opens new coaster “Diamondback” to rave reviews

Kings Island officially opened their latest roller coaster earlier this summer, Diamondback. The park’s newest roller coaster fills a major void in their ride arsenal, a hyper coaster – a steel coaster usually over 200′ tall that focuses on speed, drops, and airtime, without any inverting elements (no need for an oppressive over-the-shoulder restraint , hyper coasters require only a lap bar).
