There’s just so much information here I gave up on trying to write a summary of all this.
Everything you need to know is in this video from the D23 Expo:

I don’t know if it’s You Tube or my computer, but this video won’t play more than about three seconds at a time for me.

Sounds like it might be your internet connection? The video time-line bar at the bottom of the player will go from gray to red as it loads the video. Try pausing it and waiting for more of the video to load, and then play it.

This is pretty exciting stuff. Obviously I’m not gonna care much about visiting with princesses, but the idea that this type of expansion is being done is exciting.

Also, having another table service restaurant in the Magic Kingdom will be nice.

It’s also great to see that they are doing the Little Mermaid ride. I’m guessing it will be similar to the one that was “imagined” a long time ago – the one that had a special feature on the Little Mermaid DVD.

The “Be Our Guest” restaurant is a great idea. I’m interested to see what kind of character interactions there will be. They show someone pushing a cart with Lumiere on it – looks similar to Remy at Chefs de France in Epcot.

The Little Mermaid ride is said to be similar to the one on the DVD, and it’s going to be the same as the one they are currently building out at California Adventures (as part of the park’s re-imagineering / expansion). California’s is scheduled to open in 2011, and Magic Kingdom’s is scheduled for 2012.

Much of this expansion seems squarely aimed at people with different insterests than me … but that’s cool. Little girls are probably gonna flip out over almost all of it.

I will definitely be interested in the Little Mermaid ride and the Be Our Guest restaurant, though. And I’m sure the expansion is going to be gorgeous to stroll through.

My guess is that the expansion will put attendance at the Magic Kingdom through the roof for months afterward.

Another guess: before too much longer, the Little Mermaid attraction at Hollywood Studios will be closed and replaced by something new (probably something Pixar-centric). I hope so; that show kinda blows.
