First Reviews of Star Trek Arrive Via Aint-It-Cool

by on Apr.07, 2009, under Movies, Star Trek

There was a screening of Star Trek in Austin last, and Ain’t-It-Cool has posted several reviews.

Harry begins his review with “God bless J.J. Abrams,” and goes on to rave about the film.

In Quint’s review, there is an excellent recount of the showmanship Paramount put into the screening.  Audience members were expecting to see only a short segment of the film prior to a screening of The Wrath of Khan, but instead, Damon Lindelof, Bob Orci, Alex Kurtzman, and Leonard Nimoy showed up … with an entire print.  Quint, who admits he is not a big Trek fan, calls the new film “a genuinely fun and exciting science fiction action adventure.”

Massawyrm has a gushing review in which he says that what sells the film is “the painstaking love the film has for the series and its characters.”
